WE has become so unstable on the two machines that I have access to that I have pretty much stopped using it. I just don't have the time to keep rebooting and to jump through all the hoops, etc. Two weeks ago I had an HD crash on this machine, and I haven't yet bothered to reinstall WE on it. Perhaps I'll revisit it when a major upgrade comes around. Personally, I think the problems began with WE version 7.0 and the scripting capability. What we gained from the scripts, or apps, as they're now called, we lost in stability. WE can no longer lay claim to being rock solid. Now, it's as flaky as a teen age girl.

It sounds like an uninstall and a re-install might be in order for you. WE is a great screen-reader but trust me, it's a walk in the park compared to what I had to go through when I was using the others...especially jfw. don't even get me started LOL! either way, that's really my best suggestion.
