I am not having any problem.

Maximilian's grandson, Charles V, became Emperor in 1519. To limit his territorial ambitions and to get help in regaining Artois, François I sought an alliance with England. In *1520* they met at the Field of the Cloth of Gold <http://www.theotherside.co.uk/tm-heritage/background/cloth-gold.htm>, but failed to agree. Henry VIII went off to Gravelines to join forces with Charles V instead.

*1529* - the Treaty of Madrid-Cambrai restored the Artois region to the Charles V as Duke of Burgundy. For a century, Montreuil became the frontier fortress of France.

*1537* - Charles V besieged and captured Montreuil <http://www.theotherside.co.uk/tm-heritage/towns/montreuil.htm> with English help. they pillaged and largely destroyed the town.

*1544* - Henry VIII besieged and captured Boulogne, but handed it back to France in *1550* for a considerable sum. Montreuil held out against another Anglo-Spanish siege.

*1553* - The French continued their bloody incursions into Imperial territory from their Artois strongholds. An infuriated Charles V ordered their total annihilation: Thérouanne <http://www.theotherside.co.uk/tm-heritage/visit/visit-therouanne-cath.htm> and Hesdin <http://www.theotherside.co.uk/tm-heritage/towns/hesdin.htm> were razed to the ground and the soil rendered sterile with salt.

*1558* - The French finally won Calais back from the English. In the 16th century, and until reconquest by the French, blood origins remain of vital importance : under Spanish rule, you were only allowed to work for the local administration if you were born in Flanders, Artois or Hesdin.

*1567* - Meanwhile, the French king built a strong Citadelle at Montreuil. It was again attacked by the Spanish in *1594* - they realised the gateway was a weak point, so the town walls were strengthened with only two gateways in and out. In 1604, Henri IV visited Montreuil and declared it /"Fidelissima Picardorum Natio."/

*1659* - Louis XIV <http://www.theotherside.co.uk/tm-heritage/background/louis-xiv.htm>'s Treaty of the Pyrénées rejoined the Artois region to France, leaving Montreuil safely well behind the frontier.I have a Dell computer with windows 7 64 bit and am running WE 7.5.2.

yes, i would agree, i think it has more to do witht he machine then with win
eyes, i am running iwn eyes 7.0 on a dell xps xp desktop machine, no
problem, and 7.5.1, and 7.5 on a toshiba techra laptop, and hp persario, and have absolutley no problems with the functionality of win eyes. i would lean
toward a potential restore of your machines, or, maybe its got a hidden
virus which i have had before.

Andy,

why do you think so few people seem to feel the way you do? Do you think
it
possibly could be something on your pc? I'd say most of the rest of us
feel
it's as stable as it ever was, and the benefits of the scripting is just
enormous.

WE has become so unstable on the two machines that I have
access to that I have pretty much stopped using it. I just
don't have the time to keep rebooting and to jump through all
the hoops, etc. Two weeks ago I had an HD crash on this
machine, and I haven't yet bothered to reinstall WE on
it. Perhaps I'll revisit it when a major upgrade comes
around. Personally, I think the problems began with WE
version 7.0 and the scripting capability. What we gained from
the scripts, or apps, as they're now called, we lost in
stability. WE can no longer lay claim to being rock solid.
Now, it's as flaky as a teen age girl.

Hi. It sounds like an uninstall and a re-install might be in
order for you. WE is a great screen-reader but trust me,
it's a walk in the park compared to what I had to go through
when I was using the others...especially jfw. don't even get
me started LOL! either way, that's really my best suggestion.
