Although I would not state it in quite the manner stated by Andy, I have
seen a decline in stability since earlier versions of WE on several
machines under my direct control. The scripting certainly is part of
the issue since when it is turned off the performance and stability of
the machines has improved. I just reverted my laptop running XP Home to
7.5.1 in order to regain the use of Thunderbird. My other choice was to
upgrade to TBird 8. Knowing the increased demands of TBird 8 I was not
inclined to this on my laptop. So, I uninstalled WE, did a clean
install from my 7.5 CD and updated to 7.5.1.0. In comparison to 7.5.2.0
frankly it runs far more smoothly with the same settings on the same
machine.

Exiting WE via the Insert-ctrl-F4 key combination on my Win7 64 bit
machine has the nasty habit of causing it to crash rather than exit.
Sometimes it is recoverable, often I have to shutdown down from the
power button on the machine. These are only a few examples of why I am
quite unhappy with the stability of WE 7.5.2.0. I did not have problems
like this even in 7.2. For the record, I consistently provide bug
reports to GW staff via the diagnostic app as well as email. The
majority of my annoyances I do not post here.
