Brenda,
Could you have them start Narrator? Just a thought. At least, then they
would know, what is going on at the screen, and so might just be possible to
sort out if there is any messages
For later, this is the kind of situations, where I love to have NVDAA
installed on the computer. Or, at least, on a USB drive of some kind. But
for now, try running Narrator, and see if they get any messages, that would
indicate why the setup does not start.
I have even seen cases, where the setup actually loads, but there is no
welcome message. In those cases, hitting the hotkey for loading with speech,
will all the sudden have the speech jump into action.

I toldher to write in:
d:\setup and hit enter.
When that did not work, I told her to run
d:\setup.exe
and hit enter.
No go there either. There's no sighted person there to see what's on
screen. I don't know if we can access the cd manually or not, hence, the
reason I'd tried to tell her to manually run setup. No go. I had told her
to hit start, run and d:\setup
and it didn't work.
Take care and thanks,
Brenda

Can you access any of the content on the cd? If so, try to go and type the
following
d:\ and see what that does. If you get to the content that way, run the
set up file manually.

Subject: can't get Window-Eyes 7.5.4.1 to install off it's CD-ROM
Hello. A friend of mine, about a thousand miles away called me saying
that they cannot get Window-eyes 7.5.4.1 to install from the CD-ROM. They
uninstalled version 7.2 and then, they proceeded to install the new one.
It's like they can hear the hard drive spin but no welcome message. So, I
told them to write in
d:\setup
and hit enter.
No go. What am I missing here? Did I not tell her right? All her sound
events are working and all of that, but I don't know if her CD-Rom
drive's auto-run was disabled by the latest security patches as mine was.
So, I took her through the d:\setup. Is that the path to what I need to
tell her to install with if we have to do it manually?
Thanks,
Brenda\
