I've never had this problem, however, one time, just out of curiosity, I
ran the install using narrator and everything worked fine. So she should
be able to browse her DVD drive, execute the installer, and go through
the installation without any problems.

I have had this happen. The install dialogue actually comes up, but
does not talk. In those instances, I have had to use sighted
assistance. Sometimes the install will start talking at some point.

Subject: can't get Window-Eyes 7.5.4.1 to install off it's CD-ROM
Hello. A friend of mine, about a thousand miles away called me saying
that they cannot get Window-eyes 7.5.4.1 to install from the CD-ROM.
They uninstalled version 7.2 and then, they proceeded to install the new
one.
It's like they can hear the hard drive spin but no welcome
message.
So, I told them to write in
d:\setup
and hit enter.
No go. What am I missing here? Did I not tell her right? All her sound
events are working and all of that, but I don't know if her CD-Rom
drive's auto-run was disabled by the latest security patches as mine
was. So, I took her through the d:\setup. Is that the path to what I
need to tell her to install with if we have to do it manually?
Thanks,
Brenda\
