On my computer, the CD drive is drive E. My recovery is drive D. I have an
HP machine. I had this problem in Windows XP mode. I was able to explore the
drive. When I pressed the Alt key, the File menu came up. When i arrowed up
once or twice, I found Autoplay. I pressed that, and the Cd started running
normally. However, the syntax may be e:\setup

Subject: can't get Window-Eyes 7.5.4.1 to install off it's CD-ROM
Hello. A friend of mine, about a thousand miles away called me saying
that they cannot get Window-eyes 7.5.4.1 to install from the CD-ROM.
They uninstalled version 7.2 and then, they proceeded to install the new
one.
It's like they can hear the hard drive spin but no welcome message.
So, I told them to write in
d:\setup
and hit enter.
No go. What am I missing here? Did I not tell her right? All her
sound events are working and all of that, but I don't know if her
CD-Rom drive's auto-run was disabled by the latest security patches
as mine was. So, I took her through the d:\setup. Is that the path to
what I need to tell her to install with if we have to do it manually?
Thanks,
Brenda\
