If there's not a flaw (or flaws) in the actual operation of the new browse mode, then there may well be human engineering issues that need to be addressed. I've attempted to revert back to something more like the previous operation by adjusting autoload behavior in the settings, but that's not entirely satisfactory. I find the new browse mode erratic. I have just as much--if not more--of a problem with pages not loading until manually initiating browse mode. What seems to be generally erratic behavior makes it hard to use the new browse mode, even with pages as simple as Google.
I'm fully ready to acknowledge I may be missing something--or several things--about how browse mode works, but it shouldn't be that hard. I kept trying to use the new browse mode, waiting for that ah ha moment, but finally set browse mode to load manually. Overall, I truly hope the performance can be more like what I understood GW was aiming for or, at the least, there could be clearer instructions on how the new browse mode is supposed to work and how pages will be presented. I offer this in a spirit of support. I only wish I understood enough of what was happening or not happening to provide more specific feedback. GW does great work and the tech support is unmatched. Numerous sites where browse mode simply doesn't behave at all--stops speaking completely. It actually seems worse to me with the beta 2 than it did in 7. Sorry to be such a jerk about this; I don't mean to be. But I know I have a problem when I actually yearn for the uncomplicated days of tapping Enter every time I had to type something. I realize I need to be more specific regarding which sites are problematic, but so many of them are that I really don't know where to begin. I can't always tell whether browse mode is on or off, so I wind up banging Control+A more than I ever did before the improvements. This is doubtless operator error on my part or some silly setting I've created that few if anyone else has, but it's perplexing, to say the least, and frustrating at most.
