Sound Forge 9 was somewhat buggy. They had changed to a new development environment with it and I used to see odd things like the status bar or the tool bar not appearing. Version 10 seems to be pretty much a big bug fix. And of course they tossed in some new features and plug-ins that used to be optional purchases in order to call it a new version. So your friend might want to check on the price for an upgrade. They've been having some specials recently. Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is finding the executable in the program files (X86) folder, opening the context menu, properties, and playing around with the options under the compatibility tab.

Hi Dutchman!

When you install soundforge, do you run as Admin?
I am running SoundForge 10, on Windows 7 64 Bit.
Windows 8, I know nothing about.

Hi folks!
I am needing some help for a friend of mine. She is running windows 7 64
bit and sound forge 9.0 audio. Whenever she launches the program, it
hangs and says program is not responding. We have uninstalled and
reinstalled twice. I have spoken to sony and they say that the 32 bit
version runs in a 64 bit inVironment of Windows 7. What might I be doing
wrong or what could be causing the program to hang like this? I'm not
sure what else to try.
