No. All versions of USB are backwards compatible. If one port is harder to
insert the cable into, then there is something off about the port. You can
plug in USB 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 devices into a USB port, you just won't get the
higher speed, and you can plug a USB 3.0 device into all the way down to a
USB 1.0 port, again you will just get the speed the older port is compatible
with.
