I believe that 0.6.1 as it stands is only a "bugfix" release in terms of 
the beacon.  If people's sites work fine without it, they can continue 
to use whatever version they have without issue.

If we were to do as you say and make the 0.0.x significant only for 
security updates, then the next release version from the current 
makaanga 0.x branch should be 0.7.  Releasing 0.7 now screws with our 
roadmap.  I should put "roadmap" in quotes, though.  More importantly, 
it also implies that our version numbers will escalate much more quickly 
as typos and minor bugs will merit a full minor version bump.

My final impression is that someone needs to say what we should do, 
instead instead of saying what we should not do.  We should decide on 
this very quickly, everyone should understand how it will be 
implemented, and it should be very clearly documented so that we never 
have this discussion again.

Whatever we decide, we should not delay much longer in releasing.  Some 
of the bugs that were fixed significantly impair the major features that 
we advertised in 0.6.
