Thanks Greg, I would of never even looked at HP if you hadn't mentioned it.... I am a Thinkpad guy...but I am going with the Spectre x360 13-4005dx which has the I7 and the Quad HD but skip the 512 SSD which cuts the cost by 150. I don't need that kind of space on a laptop... especially one with so many USB3 ports. My only hesitation is with the Quad HD which I don't completely understand the issue. I assume I will be able to use it at normal resolutions, but what you are telling me is that some applications won't scale properly and I won't know which ones until I try it?

It's a tough call. You have +200MHz base clock, +300MHz max turbo clock, +1MB cache, and +50MHz graphics turbo clock. In all, not much difference. I don't expect there's a huge difference in power and heat - most of the chip's life will be spent at downclocked level anyway. If it was HyperThreading vs not or was QC vs DC, it'd be a no-brainer upgrade. As is, I don't think it sufficiently justifies the extra $150.
