Sizzle before steak, as always. The problem with other OSS projects is that the docs are poor, they are poorly promoted, one often can't tell what one is supposed to download, the pages generally suck (at least on sourceforge), and asking often gets the "don't be such a lamer" response so common in OSS circles.
