That's interesting. I've yet to see a single machine that feels faster in Vista. And I've used it on systems up to an X2 3800+ with 2GB of RAM and an X1950Pro video which should have been able to make Vista blaze along. It didn't. What sort of hardware are you using?
I also find the new start menu unintuitive and clunky. As for looks, I'm not much one for flash - give me an operating system that doesn't get in my way and I'm happy. XP does that - I'm guessing Vista might if I gave it the chance which at some point I'm going to be forced to do.
