Time out! My bad for being so quick with a OPINION expressed in bad prose, sorry! You're not being lambasted nor am I insisting you need to do ATI was implying in a 2 horse race you were really limiting your options based what sounds like arbitrary reasons about old issues that may/may not have bearing on today. If I was to go on past experiences I'd never buy a Intel, AMD, a Sleazgate HDD or HP anything! ;) The response was supposed to be laced with *sarcasm* in response to your being so (seemingly) staunchly tied to a brand rather than good choices despite brand. I am not saying ATI is best of 2 nor was I trashing NV video cards. Trashing drivers & BS corporate policies yes, hardware no. Note I was looking at NV last year, so I am not saying they're shit by any means, though in fairness both companies have a lot of work to do IMHO. As you say, building with X58 so SLI issue is moot yet there's still a bit chill in the air from NV's dissing pre-X58 users. Were I do X58 I'd be sizing up BOTH the NV 2x0 series at this point vs. ATI HD48x0 X2 series. Good luck on the build! Bobby Heid wrote: > I was not being flip.
