system working fine just was weird that after a full clean install of
OS and apps it just vanished. A lot easier in the old days with just
FDisk IMO.

No, but the System Reserve Partition doesn't appear to be a critical
partition, as I have removed it before. If you are using Windows
Backup, I would resize this partition to about 400MB (not over
500MB) as this seems to resolve a lot of odd problems that Windows Backup has.
