Jing Zhao commented on HDFS-2656: --------------------------------- Thanks for the comment Todd! So right now we keep JNI temporarily for the following issues: 1. Load configuration settings for Namenode hostname; 2. hdfsCopy. 3. hfdfMove. The current implementation is to load JVM in a lazy way. We're trying to avoid using JNI code in our next step. However, hdfsCopy/hdfsMove is not supported by webhdfs now. It seems not simple to re-implement them in the C library. Any suggestion about it? > Implement a pure c client based on webhdfs > ------------------------------------------ > > Key: HDFS-2656 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-2656 > Project: Hadoop HDFS > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: webhdfs > Reporter: Zhanwei.Wang > Assignee: Jing Zhao > Fix For: 2.0.3-alpha > > Attachments: HDFS-2656.patch, HDFS-2656.patch, HDFS-2656.patch, > HDFS-2656.unfinished.patch, teragen_terasort_teravalidate_performance.png > > > Currently, the implementation of libhdfs is based on JNI. It > also can be used to access different version of hdfs. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
