One tab vs block of multiple filters.  From my experience, then yes, there are 
many people who play games who will find a block of filters intimidating.  It's 
not the INDIVIDUAL check box, but the eight or so controls that are growing. 
Heck my dad has Steam installed, mum did it for him, and he would never go near 
the filters.

No I don't, tbh I think the criteria for heading to custom is not right.  If 
the 
system was write then you wouldn't mind having your plugin add those 
automatically.  However I do believe a tab is more visible than a small 
checkbox 
hidden away at the bottom that most people never even show.
