What would be the best unix operating system to use? I heard cento is very
good. I got dual opteron dual-core 2220 cpu's. anything that might harness
the full potential?

I think this is a kernal by kernal issue.   Because I have heard that some
linux systems run very well using the pingboost cvar and some others simply
suck when using it.

YMMV...pingboost works great for me without issues.  I have one custom
map that lags up the server but the rest of my custom maps run jsut fine.
