Indeed.  Aimbots in particular totally ruin the game for people that want
to play fair, and nothing will clear a server out faster, often before you
even get a chance as an admin to get rid of them.  We can detect or
prevent a lot of things with various scripts and plugins (and with varying
degrees of success), but there is still no real, effective aimbot
detection available for most Valve games.

It seems to me that a party (Valve) with true unfettered access to the
internals of the game engine on both client and server side, would be in
the best position to create ways to catch aimbots in use that minimize
load on the server.  If there was one thing I could ask for from the Valve
developers, this would be it.

However preventing clients from loading plugins, etc. should be a big help
and a good start, if it works.
