I was worried I had misinterpreted Ryan's book when I created the
oops.. that should have been "Robert's book"
jhalfs code for it. I had stopped testing once I could build and boot a
hlfs partition. I assumed a hlfs->hlfs build would be the same..(oh so
wrong)
That book says:
"LFS-6.0, LFS-6.1, or HLFS-0.1+, are the prerequisite for the host system.
Other systems may work but are not supported. "
If a HLFS --> HLFS build don't work using the same commands than in a LFS -->
HLFS build (except for the already pointed calls to sysctl in "6.2. Mounting
Virtual Kernel File Systems"), then the book need be fixed to take account of
that divergences.
I am not sure if the problem is the book OR some configuration quirk
(on my end) when you do the 2nd build. If Robert says he has built a
hlfs(svn)-> hlfs(svn) then that is the end of the story and I will look
at my setup.
