Many years ago, I read an interview about Bud Herseth, former principal trumpet
of the Chicago Symphony ... he was asked about doing trumpet concerti with the
orchestra, and why he had not made any recordings. His said that he didn't like
the recording process ... the final outcome of how he sounded was in someone
else's hands.
