Well thanks all for the insight into the swastika on the thumb valve cover of
my
horn.  I don't think it will ever be a problem going through customs as the
symbol is so carefully disguised that you would have a very difficult time
seeing it.  In fact when I was first told that if my horn was indeed a
pre-world
war two instrument, there would be a swastika hidden somewhere on the
instrument.  I looked for almost two months before I finally found it, and even
though I sort of have it outlined, others that look for it have a very hard
time
seeing it.

Also, it is shaped a little different from the traditional swastika in that
their is a little curl at then ends of the lines.  The craftsman that did the
scroll work on the valve cover made the lines of the symbol a part of the
pedals
of the flower.  And the craftsman that did the scroll work did beautiful work.

I will try and make a photo of the cover and post it on face book so those of
you that are interested can see.

I don't really have any interest in the swastika except that I have been told
by
several that it dates my horn to pre-world war two.  I do know that I have
owned
the horn for forty plus years and the gentleman that I bought it from had owned
the horn for more than forty plus years.  And a good friend of mine that played
in the Carborundum band when he was in high school with this gentleman had
another one of the horns.
