In what time period would the swastika on the horn have been approprate?  
 
My thoughts were that since the symbol was so disguised as to be almost 
imposable to see, that it might have been forbidden.
 
I am always interested in the historical possibilities.

Two consecutive ownerships of each forty years plus would date the horn to 
pre-1930. A swastika would not likely have been part of the engraving on a horn 
made prior to 1933.
