I think you should be good with the gcc-3.3 and the gcc-3.3-base.

I'm confused how come this isn't working out correctly for you, I was doing some debian testing earlier in the week and just did the apt-get install gcc-c++ python-dev libsnmp5-dev libcupsys2-dev python-qt3 lsb libusb-dev and it worked out perfectly. I used the debian net install cd however, so I'm not sure if there is a difference with your version of debian.

According to synaptic I have gcc v.4:3.3.5-3, gcc-3.3 v.1:3.3.5-13 and gcc-3.3-base v.1:3.3.5-13
