MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLES featuring DEAD HOT

Thursday, January 12

Peoples Republic of Koffee

1718 12th Ave

9 pm* / $donation

* second set open to anyone who wants to improvise

This month's Music for the Peoples will feature DEAD HOT (Izaak Mills & Jeff
Huston).
Rebellious lo-fi pop music stemmed from cassette tapes and bedroom recording
sessions
in un-just intonations...it's catchy-ness will flow through you like a river of
 blood.

Long time friends and collaborators Sam Boshnack (trumpet) & Beth Fleenor
(clarinet)
have joined forces with the Peoples Republic of Koffee in this monthly music
series.
Following the Capitol Hill Art Walk each month, Music for the Peoples offers a
curated first set, with a second set that is open to all interested in
improvising.
Come one - come all...the peoples need the musics...

Presented by the Frank Agency in conjunction with Advocates for Abundance
through
Action in the Arts.

FIGEATER & TRIMTAB AT THE CHAPEL
Friday, January 20
Chapel Performance Space
Good Shepherd Center
4649 Sunnyside Ave N
8 pm / $5-15 sliding scale

"Led by clarinetist Beth Fleenor, Figeater make improvised music that ranges
from
insistently propulsive and buoyant - Fleenor can channel the spirit of Raymond
Scott with aplomb - to aloof atmospheres, thugged-up backbeats, and loony,
melismatic
rants." (The Stranger)

Disjunctive, raucous, soaring, and powerful - Figeater is a textural, tribal
exploration
of organic movement.
Improvisations are punctuated, buttoned and launched by original compositions
and
songlike psychedelic episodes, with an emphasis on enviornmental
participation.
It has been called sonic spelunking - or an all improvised fun time.
This show will feature the newest Figeater conFIGuration: POWER FIG with Jeff
Huston
(guitar), Paul Kemmish (bass) & Tom Zgonc (drums).
Also on the bill Trimtab with Jason Goessl, in a special David Lynch Inspired
concert
for the great film director's birthday.

REPTET - those

horn-heavy tone bandits, that inject jazz with adrenaline and take it to the

storytelling,
dance routines and absurdist humor.
