So, that's the missing link! I tried panocube and somehow it doesn't work for me but I looked around and found Pano2QTVR and that works. I ran the jpg created by Hugin through Pano2QTVR which created a QTVR mov file for me. Opened the mov file w Quicktime and viola! a VR of my shots.
