Suggestions: Hugin stitch project: Projet d'assemblage Hugin.
I think sticking to HDR is OK, at least until someone finds a translation. I am not sure, but I believe that stack/pile is closer to the true meaning as IIUC the photos in a stack have to be almost identical.
