This other article I read, if I remember it right- did attribute LF
hum to sea,sand  or shingle action in some way- but it was not
detailed how.
I don't think that article referred to 0.01 Hz effects.
I still keep it in the back of my mind tho...could it stress earth
plates enough to cause secondary effects? - though I admit these
stresses relieve at much higher freq. and are ofterm piezo effects.
This is what animals may hear prior to quakes.
LF tremors are typical of quakes..and don't forget elephants
communicate with VLF rumbles over many miles!
A sustained Hum, as generally perceived ,seems unlikely from this
mix...but everything has to be considered on the search.
2nd and 3rd order effects cannot and shouldn't be ruled out-
especially in a rather messed up world environment, EM wise
particularly.
