Just because nature produces low voltages naturally, doesn't make nanobot Reapers/Raptors a foregone conclusion Dee! The technology can be abused but the whole idea of nano work is its smallness in molecular biology etc. Yes, it can be misapplied like everything else- but that doesn't make it all powerful-an application is needed for example first. What are you proposing? The amount of expenditure envisaged in making 'creaking cricket' trees seems unduly high to me! I'll have to assume you're a tad technophobic -and I can't counteract all your worries on here. All the same -it's an interesting area and one to follow up. One area is the effect on nature of high voltage power lines where the encroaching trees are a continual problem -and there is the broad question of man-made/solar EM effects on nature as a whole.
