Hi Everybody
Since October 2009 I have been listening to this darn hum - Just like everyone
around the world who seems to be hearing it since the early 2000's - Like a
deisel engine running. I have pinned it down to Broadband over Power Lines
carrier wave communications. It's all based on a technology by a company called
Amperion (.com for their website) who seem to be all over the world installing
it. It's a 40MHz carrier wave with 14 channels either side of that and running
24/7 on power lines 7200V to 138KV. You get "pickled" in it if you live by a
power line that has it, it's called RF Power Density Safety (if you want to
look it up) and gives an FCC mandated estimate of how long you can safely stay
in a RF before you get sick. Seems to affect people in their mid-50's to early
60's mostly and drives many people over the top because they can't find anyone
else that can hear it.
Certain government departments know that it affects people but it appears that
they have written us off as "trivial" collateral damage when compared with what
the technology brings in $$ wise.
Sorry to appear a little rambling here, but it's a complex subject. Maybe build
on it as we go along. I'd like to build a contact base as I'm trying to get
this 40MHz signal out of the power lines and into a shielded cable on the
poles. Stop the hum and live in peace and quiet again instead of listening to
it all the time.
