I haven't had any problems with lag on the A3K, but now I'll be on the
alert for them.
Concerning software sequencers, I've tried the Big Three, and found the
Rm1x adhered to the way I work more than software. Everything I do is
geared toward live performance. I used Cakewalk for a while, but what I
came up with never translated to the Rm1x format. I like to work in
patterns and assign midi parameters to the Rm1x knobs. That sets me up
for improvisational tweakage.
Once I learned the Rm1x really well, I found that I could to most of the
things that I can do in software. I would like to know, however, how to
write a pattern in software and get it assigned to one of the Rm1x
patterns (i.e. A-P). That would be really cool, as Logic has a great
midi implementation that I would like to explore.
Cheers,
Scott
