Then that would be just plain pigheaded - you are restricting the number of paging paths, not increasing. There is only one SSCH/RSCH at a time per page dataset, so you have just prevented MVS from concurrent page-in of PLPA pages, while doing page-in/out of a Common pages. The logic in that defeats me. The number of paths to auxiliary is firstly the number of page datasets defined, and secondly the number of paths that they share. Your logic doesn't seem to work for this case.
