I generally advocate getting a Mac and being done with it. After some basic adjustments, you'll begin to wonder why everything else feels like it's 20-years behind.
But if you get a PC, I suggest Lenovo or Fujitsu. Even the newer HP's are pretty good. Always stay away from Dell.
