Have you read the two manuals Server Time Protocol Planning Guide and Server Time Protocol Implementation Guide?
Are you running a Parallel Sysplex and need the CF lpars? You may have wasted money as you can define TIMER ONLY links. I haven't looked at the books for some time however they should cover everything you need to implement STP.
