For many years IBM had a Human factors lab in Almaden, but don't know if they still do. PARC and Alan Kay analyzed in detail the 'modern office' and laid the ground work for much how we work today. Joan Winters from SLAC head the Human Factors projects at SHARE for many years and usually took home the prize for best session. IIRC the green screen was for IBM monitors.
