AFAIK it is not discontinued or not improved.

Example: PK16580 for NVAS for handling mixed case passwords.
( Yes, this is 3 years young, but ... ;-D )

Another example: PK71939. (CLOSED PER on 2008/11/05, S0C4 due to loop in
buffer chain.)

This alone is a good reason we keep NVAS.

P&H used 3278 Mod 2's, it didn't much matter, but yes - I believe it would be
a good feature to be able to switch terminal sessions on the fly. I get hit
with
that all the time when I want to go from Mod 4 mode to Mod 5 or back.

True. You can have an original session of 24x80 and then go to a 32x80
session on another workstation and continue there, but not from 32x80 to
24x80. I can't say about custom terminal geometry, for example 54x132.

Just like Paul Gilmartin, I also want to have that cool z/VM command on z/OS
and automatic geometry reformatting on z/OS.

Oh, well, I must stop dreaming and wishing... ;-D ;-D
