Walt, I had a good laugh with your answer below.  Other posts asked why 
something works the way it does.  I think a good thing to remember is that most 
people that are systems programmers, like myself, like to figure out just how 
and why things work the way they do.  I think it is part of our very nature as 
people, and why we go into something like systems programming.  You might think 
of that when you don't answer a why question that someone asks.  And, you may 
have very good reasons for not responding with the why, although then we want 
to know why!
