Ted, Do you have a reference for that 200,000 value? I'm the capacity planner/zOS performance analyst in my shop. While I'm not authorized to change the system performance parms directly, they do look to me for recommendations. Since we are also planning an upgrade from z/OS 1.7 to 1.9 I've been reviewing the various parms and found that we need to increase the ERV value and probably remove the RMPTTOM entry from IEAOPTxx. So I've been doing a lot of manual reading and Googling to determine optimum values. I haven't seen anything in my research about such a high value for ERV.
