We run with READ only filesytems. So what I did instead of this method was to apply the fixes to my /Service filesystems. Once completed, I mounted new/empty filesystems(for each product) at a temp location, and did a cp -pR /Service/usr/lpp/internet file structure into the empty filesystem. Then just unmounted and remounted it at /usr/lpp/internet, and recycled HTTP servers. I did the same for the other PTF's as well.
Of course, I also have staged the changes to be picked up with the next IPL as well.
