"3211" was presumably a typo for 2311, since the 3211 is an impact printer, 
substantially faster than the 1403 and with a forms control buffer (FCB) 
instead of a carriage tape.

Excuse me, but what is 3211?
I suspect a typo, but I found nothing similar.
2311 is too old IMHO (1964).
Maybe 3330-11 ?
