ISPF text editing line commands are both ancient and underappreciated. They were probably a lot more utilized when a lot of text management software operated directly on mainframe files. This was before 3270 emulation, where the user could easily switch between m/f and PC files on the same device in the same session. The TS (text split) and TF (text flow) commands can still produce results with a few key strokes that are tedious and time consuming in most PC based editors. This even to the point where it can sometimes be more efficient to copy/paste a passage of text from PC to m/f, perform ISPF text edit commands, then copy/paste back. Whether this is the best way to solve OP's problem is open to question, but for an ad hoc one-time task, the price is certainly right. Also consider the power of BNDS to control the whole process. . .
