VSWITCHes, TCPIP and 802.1Q

I have a requirement to implement a VLAN aware tcpip.

I thought the following was sufficient to implement this:

'CP DEFINE VSWITCH VSW1 RDEV 500 600 CONNECT QUEUESTORAGE 8M CONTROLLER * IP
IPTIMEOUT 5 NONROUTER VLAN  545 PortType TRUNK'

My TCPIP stacks utilize the above VSWITCH.  But when network incoporated
802.1, the system could not connect to the network.

I have no idea what is required to make it work.  As I said I thought the
VSWITCH definition was sufficient.

Please advice.
