Hi, Roger.

Make sure that you uploaded the GD-XEDIT VMA file from your workstation
to CMS in binary 
format, with a lrecl of 80 and a fixed record format (LRECL=80,
RECFM=F). Also verify 
that the vmarc file does indeed have a EXAMPLXED EXEC memeber in it:

     VMARC LIST GD-XEDIT VMA A

You could simply unpack all of the packed files to a tempary or work
disk:

     VMARC UNPACK GD-XEDIT VMA A  = = A
