Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water......

All this started when I asked if we were licensed to use the HL
Assembler Toolkit on our z/OS system. I used to be in the flow of the
hardware/software process and I knew these things but no more. It just
happens.

If you're looking at using HLASM on IFLs, you will need to get a Special

Bid from IBM as HLASM is not otherwise offered under the terms of the
IBM
Program License Agreement (IPLA) needed for IFLs. Use of HLASM on IFLs
is
typically limited to the assembly of required system programs or
configuration elements. Other uses require standard engines. But that
is
something you can negotiate on the special bid.

If that isn't to your liking, Dignus has an HLASMesque offering as well.

Finally, depending on the circumstances and your company's views on such

things, IBM may even assemble the item for you gratis.
