We have distinct seasons in NC, but compared to most of the country...and especially compared to most of Canada...our winters are pretty mild. Mainly though, it's this time of the year that's hard on them. We're still having highs in the 80's and may even hit 90 this weekend. If I clip them now, their coats will still grow out a little, hopefully leaving them more like a "normal horse" coat. We have even had Christmas or New Year's Days with highs about 70-75, although our average winter highs are more like in the 50's. Karen Thomas, NC
