Kaaren, this one is nubuck so I don't foresee a slipping problem. I'm not worried about the cinch ring, at least not yet. If I use a normal saddle pad (Skito, DM or square pad) the pad will be under the ring. And I also have the Cashel ring covers that are made for western saddles cinch rings, in case I don't use a pad. I could see also cutting a very small piece of sheepskin off of a seatbelt cover to do the trick.
