an Equitana type affair & said that the Italian "waterproof leather" on the
one she demoed was very slippery for the rider

Kaaren, this one is nubuck so I don't foresee a slipping problem. Lisa also
said they have a synthetic Hydro (suede-like, I think?) model about to be
(or just?) released.

I'm not worried about the cinch ring, at least not yet. If I use a normal
saddle pad (Skito, DM or square pad) the pad will be under the ring. And I
also have the Cashel ring covers that are made for western saddles cinch
rings, in case I don't use a pad. I could see also cutting a very small
piece of sheepskin off of a seatbelt cover to do the trick. So, I don't
see either of those issues being a big deal...but who knows what I else I
may find - things often aren't as good as you expect when you actually use
them... :)

"The greatest enemy of the truth very often is not the lie- deliberate,
contrived and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive and
unrealistic."

"All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." ~ Arthur Schopenhauer
