Hi: I have a Little Joe which I layer over a Skito 1/2 pad with a Balance contour 12 oz 100% wool pad which the "A" frame guy & I like quite well.
Elizabeth , who makes the Little Joe's substituted my black english bridle leather billets & shortened the pad to 23" from the standard 26" for my Icey's at no charge. On my other wider guy I just put the Little Joe on over a Skito All-In_One, which he really likes. We like the Little Joe a lot , but I still prefer my Sensations for the "cadillac" seat cush on longer rides. The downside with Little Joe's are the 4-6 week wait depending on order volume. If you don't like them even after you've used them, they refund you money. A friend who tried the Phantom Bareback Pad a while back in Europe at an Equitana type affair & said that the Italian "waterproof leather" on the one she demoed was very slippery for the rider & that the large girthing ring needed to be shielded for the horse. Maybe they have another leather for the top available now/have changed the "cinch ring" design??? Karen, keep us posted on how you like it....warts & all. Kaaren
