Day 2 of the 2006 Fall Kennedy Cup was another challenging day on the Chesapeake Bay.
The Race Committee started the first race in a stroing ebb and waning northerly which died and shifted east. They ultimately elected to abandon the race with competitors spread over all four legs of the course, After a lengthy wait, a light southeasterly seemed to fill and a race was started. By this time the flood had begun, making for painfully long beats. Cal Maritime selected the best lanes and kept their boat moving to take the bullet with Washington College finishing second and St. Mary's 3rd. This was the only race completed for the day. The Kennedy Cup wraps up tomorrow with the winning team earning the right to represent the United States in the 2007 Studetn Yachting World Cup held annually in France.
