The Shields Trophy Regatta will be held at Navy aboard our fleet of MK II Navy 44s. This two day event is a championship for Service Academies and also serves as a qualifying regatta for teams looking to earn a berth in the McMillan cup to be held in late October. The slots are open to service academies first and remaining slots will be allotted to non-service academies looking to qualify for Mac Cup.
Teams currently registered for the Shields include: Service Academies: MAISA: USNA, NYM, KP, Army, Royal Military Academy NEISA: USCGA, Maine Maritime, Mass Maritime Standby for Mac Cup Elims: Cornell, St. Marys Participating teams are required to practice Friday afternoon and can plan to get aboard a boat starting at 1400 Friday 10 Sept. There will be a skippers meeting Saturday morning at 0900. I am looking forward to our first regatta on the new boats and to hosting all your team members at Navy.
