If you count in emails inside big companies, it seems that every single email is CC'ed to dozen of people who might need that information, and every single email will keep all the context that thread ever had, so it can easily be copied to even more people, which makes the mails bigger and bigger. And of course the include the 100 MB presentation to the email sent to the everybody in the company.
